Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how CellarHive collects, uses and protects information. CellarHive is operated by DMC STACK PTY LTD (ABN 99 698 042 027, ACN 698 042 027), an Australian company operating from Western Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who this policy covers

CellarHive lets licensed venues manage their menu, publish it to Beer Me (our app for drinkers) and to their own public pages, and advertise on Beer Me. This policy covers the people who hold CellarHive logins for a venue, and visitors to a venue's CellarHive pages.

2. Information we collect

If you add your own analytics measurement ID to your public pages, that analytics service is yours. You configure it, it reports to you, and you are responsible for telling your page's visitors.

If you add a newsletter sign-up to your pages, visitors' email addresses go straight to the form provider you chose (such as Mailchimp). They don't come to us.

3. What is published

Your menu, prices, photos and page content are published to Beer Me and to your pages on a cellarhive.au address. That is deliberate: it is what the listing is for, and how drinkers find your venue. Your account details, billing details and the ideas and reports you send us are not published.

4. How we use information

We do not sell personal information.

5. Menu photo reading

Where you photograph a menu so its items can be read automatically, that image is sent to Google's Gemini API for text recognition, on infrastructure that may be located outside Australia. A menu is public information about a venue's products and prices. Google is engaged under paid commercial API terms, under which content is not used to train Google's models.

6. Data storage and security

What encryption does and does not mean. These controls protect your data from interception in transit and from anyone obtaining the underlying storage. They do not mean we are unable to read your data: the platform cannot operate otherwise. Access is restricted, requires multi-factor authentication and is logged. We will not claim an inability we do not have.

7. Sharing your data

Overseas disclosure (APP 8). Two things leave Australia: a photograph of a menu (section 5), and, when you buy a paid extra or an ad, the payment and billing details you give at checkout, which Stripe processes and may store overseas, including in the United States. Everything else we hold (your account, your venue's details and the messages you send us) stays in Australia.

8. Data retention

We don't keep information indefinitely, and we can't delete all of it on request.

To close an account, email hello@cellarhive.au. We'll confirm your identity, tell you what will be destroyed and what must be kept and why, and complete the destruction within 30 days.

9. Your rights

10. Age requirement

CellarHive is intended for people aged 18 and over who manage licensed venues. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we'll delete it promptly.

11. Data breaches

We maintain a Notifiable Data Breach response plan. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we'll notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988, and we'll notify the affected venue without undue delay.

12. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled personal information, email hello@cellarhive.au. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and give you a written response within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll tell you about significant changes by email or in the app. The latest version is always at cellarhive.au/privacy.

14. Contact
